It looks like they are not so far, depending on traffic...Hmmm, maybe when I spent all that time in Warrenton, I was nearer than I realized! Shipping for the gallon pot by USPS priority mail was pretty steep at $16 but probably still cheaper than at Kihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05576859749293959381noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22571073.post-4776294907407988652007-05-24T22:26:00.000-04:002007-05-24T22:26:00.000-04:00YE, good luck with it! Apparently the Chinese variety C. retusus blooms before partially leafing out as the C. virginicus does so that's what I am looking for. Both shrubs are head turners for sure. Thanks for posting the picture and for reminding me to Kihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05576859749293959381noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22571073.post-25341281260190446872007-05-19T15:08:00.000-04:002007-05-19T15:08:00.000-04:00This fringe tree is something else. Mine look like matchsticks planted at regular intervals even though they started out with just one stalk. I've linked now and am happy to see that I will be able to grow a Fringe tree too as they grow in England as well. Hurrah!

It's a pity that we live so far away, I could give you lunch and you could give me variegated Solomon's Seal. And we could chat, for hours probably! giggle :-)Yolanda Elizabet Heuzenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02506031220151023088noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22571073.post-31967028804687708462007-05-18T18:42:00.000-04:002007-05-18T18:42:00.000-04:00YE, it is Chionanthus virginicus...there is more i...YE, it is Chionanthus virginicus...there is more info in/on the link on the post, if you want.

Too bad you are so far away...you could come over and we could dig you a piece of the Solomon's Seal.

I have a hard time resisting variegated foliage!Gotta Gardenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05858358103234856020noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22571073.post-16804367178002706552007-05-18T17:37:00.000-04:002007-05-18T17:37:00.000-04:00GG how absolutely wonderful of you to put these pi...GG how absolutely wonderful of you to put these pics up.
