Not Quite Summer, Not Quite Peak....

Lots of rain of late and with that, some great blooms...larger than normal and more intense colors. It's hard to keep up as each day more and more open. Peak will probably be in a week or so, as a guess. The only down side (besides extreme weed growth) is that getting to the seedlings on my hill is near impossible. The bottom bed is especially difficult and that's the one I must make the difficult decisions on. Ah well...their fate will have to be decided on later blooms...

Here's some of what I'm seeing...

Surprise!

Scurrying to get away....

Peppermint Pinwheel really caught my eye...a ton of blooms on that clump! It's been sooo wet here, too in NJ, I wonder if I'll find a turtle lurking..lol. Okay now, how will you store the pollen and how long will they last?

I had to share your garden via a link in my post today. I'm just ga-ga over your blooms! Thank you so much for faithfully recording the daylilies via photographs!

And I vow soon there will be a garden dedicated to daylilies at my place as well. But how will I ever chose which ones to buy???
(note to self: start a wish list journal NOW!)

Garden greetings from Vermont!
The rain that you mentioned in mid June has not stopped in Vermont since then. Sunday there was a little sunshine but not enough to make the daylilies really bloom. We have about 50 blooming now but the cold nights are slowing things. Some daylilies are blooming on very short scapes alomost at ground level. Certainly cannot say that the plants haven't grown well although I noticed last night that the tarnished bugs, Lygus lineolaris, have come out of hiding along with the sun.

Hope we all see some real sunshine soon!

What an incredible variety of daylilies you have here. Wow.
I have a mere two, but lots of Oriental and Asiatic lilies, which also have a fantastic range of color, form and scent.
