I did it. I've been thinking and thinking about it. And, I just finally did it. While at the AHS National Convention, I happened upon a vendor selling the set ups...and I bought one. No plugs, here, as I paid full price, etc.
Here they are, the new employees of Gotta Garden...
Yep, three varieties, no less, that will, hopefully, soon start eating and eating...
Here are some attempting to get to some good stuff on the next level...
Hey, they don't make any noise...and, at this point, no mess.....I'm just waiting on the black reward...

I don't know why it took me so long to discover this (years...no comment)....but, I am finally tapping into another source of...shall we say...liquid gold. My compost tumbler leaks out liquid and one day (maybe after observing the sweet shrub trying to take over the world (behind which the compost tumbler used to sit)....I thought to myself, "Self, it is time to use that stuff where I want it." Yes.
Now I collect it. It's raining today...which will just give me more of my own version of compost tea...hence, the dark picture. This joy juice is amazing (if I do say so myself....and looks remarkably like a product that sells in a bottle...). Try it yourself...if for some reason you haven't thought of it already.
Are these the Red Wigglers? I ordered some this past Winter (after having wanted to try indoor composting for quite a long time), but unfortunately for me and the worms, I over fed them... at least, I think that's what happened. They were probably very happy, but fruit flies ensued and multiplied and multiplied, etc. and our house was nearly inhabitable! So... "In the Bleak Mid-Winter," out they went. Into my cold compost pile where they promptly died (due to the Winter) and are now part of the "black gold" that develops more slowly. It was worth a try!
ReplyDeleteGood luck! Many people do very well with this! :-)
You're lucky to have found this liquid gold manufacturers. Wish I get lucky soon too. Great find.
