Snowverkill...

....We now are under a blizzard warning vs. a snow storm until 7:00 pm....It looks like we've gotten an additional six inches or so. A couple hours ago, the snow was coming down heavier than it is now...although we've got wind blowing around as I write.

Before I get out there and push snow around on my driveway and walkway, I thought I'd play around and see if I could capture some snow pictures. (This is when I think I should consider the photography blog...)

In the category of What-on-Earth-Is-that....

That is...you guessed this, right...snow on Kobe...

I wanted to get actual snowflakes coming down...

....it occurred to me that it is hard to get white-on-white

...snowflakes are challenging...

White everywhere...

You can kinda see by Riley out there in the driveway that there's probably around 6 inches or so of new snow...

A last attempt...for now...you can see some snowflakes against the darkness of the bench....ah ha...contrast...that might work...

....off to the never-ending task of snow removal (Did I wake up and find I've moved to Wisconsin or somewhere??)....

  1. It finally stopped and the sun even came out for a few minutes! I attempted some photos, trying to capture something 'interesting' but it seemed everything was blocked out by something white??!! It's still windy on and off, but I think the worst has passed, thankfully;-) I've gotta get outside to shovel, too. My hubby is out of town until Fri. nite. Luckily I can get some help from my 13 y.o. on, although he doesn't know it yet!

  2. I love your title. We were not supposed to get anything today but maybe some rain mixed with snow. It poured last night and about 8 it started snowing and then the temps drop so the wet roads and bridges started freezing. What a mess! Accidents everywhere.

On to warmer things. I just learned that the company I work for is going to be an open garden in late June for the Daylily regional. Look me up if you come down. Maybe your snow will be melted by then.

  3. WOW. I spoke WAY too soon. The wind picked up not long after my earlier comment and has been howling & blowing drifts everywhere. I guess I shouldn't jump the gun...arghh.

  4. Just came across your blog today and I must say it is the BEST gardening blog I have ever seen!! Thanks for bringing your readers so much joy while we battle the winter blues! Looking at all your beautiful photos of daylilies, daffodils, and more just puts a smile on my face.

It just started snowing here in Atlanta, GA- we are expecting a few inches, blah! I guess I can't complain with these pictures you have just posted though! Blessings to you as you brave that crazy blizzard!

  5. You COULD be in Wisconsin... or Minnesota... or Iowa. ;-) Hopefully the only thing this snow does is provide your gardens with plenty of good moisture come Spring!

Gotta Comment? Great! Thanks in advance for taking the time. I'll get back to you as soon as possible, assuming I'm not in the garden...because there, I lose all track of time...(Don't you?)...Take care now.
