Out in Front or Out Front

Today marked the end of the lettuce.  The last of it is soaking in the sink (it was hot today) recovering before it goes into the fridge.  I'm not too sad about it as the heat means other tasty things like tomatoes and peppers will soon be coming.  I'm also considering putting in a few seeds of some of those knee high sunflowers, specifically Music Box, where the lettuce formerly resided.

Not to be left out in this year-of-amazing-early-bloom, the daylilies have started.  I'm developing new appreciation for some of these front of the border ones.

Fortunately, these are all located where they can bloom and be seen.  You can see how they'd disappear behind most daylilies.  Note how they're all earlies, too.  I probably have a few in my miniature bed in the backyard that are candidates for moving out front and in front.
