I'm not quite sure what to make of it. I believe it to be part of a mix of daffodils planted in 1996. This particular one, I think, tries to bloom every year too early and gets zapped. Maybe it has decided to try blooming really early this year. So far, so good although we had been warmer than usual. I noticed the foliage coming up and sorta thought it odd, but given how I cram things in, there was always the chance it was something else...like my blue Roman Hyacinth....It would have been too early for that also, come to think of it.
Whatever. It's nice to see.

having read a lot of blogs the past week, its noticeable that so many people in so many different parts of the world are having plants flowering at odd times and out of season. It's very pretty though, I have a strong affection for Narcissus and Daffodils, especially the dainty ones like yours.
Very odd. They are already growing under the ground as I accidentally hit some the other day-but to bloom? Sure is pretty.

Same thing is happening in my front beds in Northern Virginia. I though it was because I had planted some new perennials in early October, and may have inadvertently moved some daffodil bulbs closer to the surface. But this suggests that it wasn't just me.
Odd it is; much too early and many more impacted bulbs than in past years, when the problem was usually a warm spell in December that tricked a few of them.
Also convinces me not to rush this year's bulb plantings, but wait until the first or second frost.
lol. we have an azalea coming into bloom. it is NOT one which re-blooms. odd climate issues in the garden. enjoy your early spring. we will also!

They are so pretty. I had some spring crocus bloom already but some animal chewed it down by the next day so I never got its picture.

Oh yes, spring has sprung (not here ;) but unusual surprises do happen ... a bergenia bloomed amist the falling leaves ;) Happy Thanksgiving!
