Botting Garden...#2 on our tour...

Here we are at the second garden of the 2009 AHS Region 3 Meeting hosted by the National Capital Daylily Club...the garden of Paul and Maxine Botting. The Bottings both hybridize with Maxine's special interest being diploid miniatures. The garden, as you will see, has quite a variety of daylilies, including seedlings.

How can there be so many daylilies in the world?? And How do you resist them? (Perhaps room in the garden has something to do with it??) ;-)

Oh, how gorgeous they all are. I have fallen in love with lilies after seeing so many beauties this summer. No, wonder I went on a lily kick for this falls planting. I love the Purple Eyeliner, Huckleberry Candy, and Peggy Jeffcoat.

I have heard of this insane daylily plantations--in fact, there are some near me--but it's kind of scary. So many daylilies! Beautiful, though.
