Seasonal Daylilies

Although not blooming now, here are some of my daylilies with somewhat appropriate-to-the-season names:

MARY'S BABY*:

*The hybridizer did not name this daylily after THE Mary, but another Mary...and the above flower is its progeny. However, some license can be taken at this time of year...

HEAVENLY FLIGHT OF ANGELS:

RIBBONS AND THINGS:

LAST SNOWFLAKE:

GIFT FROM HEAVEN:

VELVET RIBBONS:

TRULY ANGELIC:

POLAR BEAR EXPRESS:

SINGING HIS PRAISES:

GLORIOUS APPEARING:

SO MANY STARS:

STARS AND ANGELS:

HEAVENLY ANGEL ICE:

Sadly, no pictures of the following (at least that I can find right now): Angelic Messenger, Christmas Cotton, Christmas Is, Creation's Story, Festival of Lights, Flamenco Christmas....

I do have a rather humble picture of GENTLE SHEPHERD (one that usually makes my outta-here list...but has missed the cut...so far)

...Glory to His Name, Holly Dancer, Peace Be With You, Peppermint Delight, Peppermint Pinwheel, Peppermint Truffle, Pink Peppermint, Simply Glorious, Sugar Plum Jam, Tin Soldier, Westbourne Faith, Westbourne Music in the Air, Wonders Never Cease and Wonder of It All....

*****

So I'm perusing an email from Lewis Ginter about their winter/spring educational opportunities (gosh I miss the old handheld booklets...) and I notice a glaring omission...no Horticulture Symposium...what??....having been to at least three, I have come to expect them...and to always wonder if I'll actually be able to make it as the weather is so uncertain here at that time...but, anyway, I hop over to the Horticulture site...and what do I find??? No More Symposiums?? Say it isn't so....

Thanks, Joey. Those patterned ones are going all kinds of neat places. Bob Faulkner has some of the coolest ones around. You can find him at: http://www.daylilytrader.com/bob_faulkner_daylilies.htm

Go have a look! (He's a great guy!)

Hehe, Linda...daylilies are easy to love, aren't they? Something for everyone. I never tire of them.

Oh, Chandramouli....really? You guys don't have daylilies there? You're probably just kidding with me, right? Anyway, thanks for the nice words!

GardenJoy4Me...so hard to cut back. I try every year and somehow end up with even more! They are just too fascinating!

Hi Jill: It's not an original idea. Actually, it's my answer to a post on a forum I hang out on some...rather than uploading photos to a photo site, copying and then pasting on the forum...I find this much easier! Plus, they're here for as long as I want. I love that about blogging.

Thinking of you as you transition to Utah...

Merry Christmas everyone...thanks for your comments!

Love all the gorgeous daylily photos! I think my favorite is Stars & Angels, although I also love Singing His Praises and Ribbons & Things. Oh, who am I fooling, I love them all!

Anyway, I just stopped by to say Merry Christmas. I hope you have a wonderful holiday!

What a gift these gorgeous photos are in the middle of winter! I think I could happily have a garden of nothing but daylilies.
