2012 AHS National Convention, Majestic Nurseries

Wow, back already...a new record for me.

We're going to visit the second garden we-never-can-get-enough people toured on the Thursday optional tour.  Please note that yesterday's garden, this one and two others were not part of the official convention gardens.  These gardens (and their owners) were kind enough to open them to us on Thursday before the convention and I believe most of them were open then and Sunday for others to see at their leisure as open gardens.

Okay, so here we are in serious farm country on a serious farm.

One of the first things we saw as got off the bus were these goats:

They were pretty amusing, as goats can be.  But, ahead there were more things to see.  Before we hit the daylily fields, I couldn't help notice this...

As I mentioned in the last post, Ohio is in serious drought, as is a lot of the nation.  Even so,  everything was immaculate and weed free.

Still, though, there were daylilies doing their best to shine.

Snow Blizzard:

Snow Blizzard was of personal interest to me as it confirmed that what I have labeled in my own garden as it...is not it.  I suspected as much.

Angelic Grin:

Out in the seedling beds, here was a daylily showing off:

Farm scenes...

I'm always looking for sunflowers (smile)...

Lots of prickly pear cactus along with zillions of pots (this is a working nursery).

Asparagus (yum) growing with some tender shoots emerging if you looked closely...

Heading back, you can see some lovely young ladies who served us fruit cups which were delicious..

The shady gazebo looked very inviting...

There was even a slide show you could enjoy sitting in the pleasant shade while eating the snacks...

It's time to move on to the next garden.  Walking by the goats, I got a chuckle out of one of them reclining in their own shade house...

Thank you so much for allowing us to visit.  If you'd like to learn more about Majestic Nurseries, please click here.

Hi!! When I saw the title of your post, of Course I should have known AHS - American Hemerocallis Society, however one of my friends just attended the National Hosta Conference in Minneapolis - so I was prepared to say I wish I'd gone with her - WE (you and I) could have met!! :-)

I can tell you had a great time!! Hope your weather is conducive to gardening this year.
