2008 AHS National Tour: Garden Three

Time to resume our visit to Houston, don't you think? We're now at the garden of Mark and Nancy Polasek. Their very pretty entry

led us around to the driveway where daylilies grown in enormous pots were beautifully in bloom. The labels on a few didn't turn out for me, but here are the ones that did:

TIJUANA TREASURE:

MANDALAY BAY MUSIC:

KEY TO TREASURES:

RED EYED FANTASY:

and LAVENDER FANTASIA:

As we entered the backyard where the real show was, daylilies were in bloom everywhere! This is just a tiny sample of what our eyes were taking in:

You couldn't help but notice BETTY FORD:

and JOHNNY CASH:

Pretty scenes like this one were also there. Look closely, you can see just a couple of the 'animals' in this garden:

LAVENDER EDGED PICOTEE:

TIERRA DEL FUEGO:

LAVENDER CREAM CASCADES:

HILLSTREET BLUES:

ROYAL REFINEMENT:

PATSY CARPENTER:

MAGIC ELF:

MAGIC CARPET RIDE:

UNENDING MELODY:

Perfect borders such as these:

I know you want to see that Texas art closer, right?

The daylily ART IMPERIAL (the Imperial garden will be visited last on our tour....but, what a garden to wait for!):

BETTER THAN BUTTER:

DARK MAGIC:

Looking quite comfortable:

OPTICAL ART:

CARNIVAL MORNING:

ELFIN ILLUSION:

IDA'S MAGIC:

I liked this one, but was uncertain of the name:

On our way out:

So neat, we have to look back:

It was too soon to leave, but lunch was calling. We headed off and soon arrived to a fine Mexican meal. Huge bowls of real guacamole (real avocados!)....it was all so delicious! Of course, we would expect nothing less in Texas! Many thanks to the Polaseks for a fabulous garden!

If you missed the first two gardens, you can find them here or under my Labels Section. Join me for Garden Four of our Day One adventure at the 2008 AHS National Convention.

Oh wow...a Cow Parade cow!

I wanted to tell you how much I enjoy my almost daily dose of daylilies via your blog! If I ever have a house with a patch of land off to the side, it is going day lily to the max.

I just kept saying oh, oh, oh. It was my fix for the day (well, for a few hours anyway, each year my habit gets a little worse)

Your Houston Hemerocallis convention series has been lots of fun, Gotta Garden - nice birthday present ;-]

In May that White Star Jasmine (also called Confederate Jasmine) should have been at its fragrant peak - sounds like you enjoyed not only the daylilies but the entire experience.
