Announcing...

Drum roll.....

Here it is:

A brand new daylily is born! This is its very first flower to open! I'm pretty proud of it! When I consider all the daylilies that I have that take some time to get it going...well, I think it's awesome for a first bloom! I'm very happy with it!

Look at its plant habit. It's very healthy, two fans already, 3 way branching and a prolif to boot!

Sorry it's a bit bright...I've been gone all day and the sun was pretty strong this afternoon around 3:30 when I took these pictures.

It's about 6 inches...so good size and the petals are about 2.75 inches wide! Somehow, I forgot to measure how tall and attempt to count the buds...and it's only going to get better!

Welcome new daylily!!

That's really beautiful, and I've never seen one like it before! I was going to call it unusual, but I really don't know my flowers all that well, so who am I to say? :-)

Fantastic! Mine are just starting to bloom, but none as nice as this yet. I planted them in mass across one side of my pool, and can't wait to float by looking at the blooms.

Hi Carol: Thanks! This felt a bit like wondering if it was only nice to me (you know, big ears and crooked smile...but oh so dear to mom!)!

Oh Ruth, thank you!

Hi Mark: I don't know if you're kidding with me (which is fine!)...so, I'll assume you are...yep! Just a bit! lol! Last check of the spreadsheet has me up to 640 some registered ones...and hundreds of seedlings! Thank you!

Oh Genie! I am so glad you've come by! Thank you! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...so it means a lot!

That does sound heavenly, Kristi! I hope they're fragrant as well as that would be especially delicious! Thanks!

Thank you, Jean!

Thanks, Kate...I am bursting at the seams! Lol! Of course, now that I am about to have my fourth seedling bloom...well...hmmm, it's still just as exciting!
